PEOPLE GET READY!
Editor’s Note: My Dad (Bob) and I had a friendly disagreement regarding this year’s Christmas Letter. His intention was to give as much credible information as possible for every example. While I found this to be a noble cause, I thought it made the letter a more difficult read. Our compromise? Footnotes! Throughout this letter you may find a number indicating a footnote. By scrolling to the end of the letter and finding the corresponding number, you will find a much fuller back story with all the gory details. If you’re not as interested in the background? Just keep on reading! Merry Christmas!! – Mike Rani
“Everyone needs money! That’s why they call it money!” In case you have never heard that, or can’t remember where you heard it, it is a line spoken by Danny DeVito in the movie, Heist. To some it is hysterical, while others will never crack a smile. Maybe it is the delivery by DeVito that makes is so funny to me, even though it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. I hope you will find this years Christmas letter more logical, and not cause you to laugh (in the wrong places).
The Bible has much to say on the subject of money. Who has never heard the often misquoted, “The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil“? People like to say that money is the root of all evil, but there is no truth in that. Money can’t think, it doesn’t steal or kill, but the “love of it” can turn a heart to stone.
Another misconception is that the Bible approves of socialism because of events recorded in the book of Acts. The first Christians were under the assumption that Jesus would return in a very short time, which led many of them to give away all they had. To compound the error, some of them stopped working and lived off the generosity of other well intentioned Christians. The result was that the Christians in Jerusalem needed assistance from other Christian communities.
Actually, that is what happens when any society adopts socialism; sooner or later you run out of other people’s money, and that is what can be seen happening in America today. Let me say from the start that I am not a Democrat or a Republican. I support the individuals whom I believe will most closely adhere to Biblical principals and the oath they take to defend the Constitution. I believe that, for the most part, we have been sold out by career politicians who have put their own interests above that of the American people.
If you are willing to take the time, I would like to show what the Bible has foretold about the End Times, in relation to money, and what can be seen occurring today. I know that when someone mentions “End Times” that many people, including Christians, will begin to roll their eyes and get that look that says, “Oh, you’re one of those!” Yes, I guess I am one of those, but let me say something in my defense. Jesus said that although we cannot know the exact time of His return, we should watch for and recognize the signs that will lead up to it.
“When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
Luke 21: 28
The term, “End Times,” can be confusing because it has more than one meaning and can be referred to in more than one way. It is the period of time from when Christ first appeared until the “Second Coming,” when he will return. It also refers to the relatively short period of time leading up to His return which includes the seven years known as the Tribulation. End Times can also be described as the “Last Days.” I believe that we are in those last days that lead up to the Tribulation. Stick with me for awhile and I am sure I will be able to piece together a picture of what the Bible has predicted, and what we can see happening in the world today.
Anyone who has read the book of Revelation, the last book of the Bible, knows that the seven years before the return of Jesus Christ will be a terrible time to live through. This time, the Tribulation, is something that most Christians don’t worry about too much because they believe that the “church” (born again Christians) will be “raptured” off this planet at the beginning of the Tribulation.
I have read very good Biblical arguments for the rapture to occur at the beginning of the Tribulation (Pre-Tribulation) and also for it to happen at some point during the seven years (usually at Mid-Tribulation), but still others favor the very end (Post-Tribulation).
I won’t argue which I believe is right because I really can’t say for sure, and frankly, I don’t think anyone can know with absolute certainty, and therefore shouldn’t dogmatically endorse their belief. As Jesus said, only God knows the exact time for these things to occur. The two main points I would like to make are that Christians might have to endure at least part of the Tribulation, and what many have not considered, the time leading up to the Tribulation, will out of necessity, bring difficult times to Christians. I am aware of the fact that no one wants to hear that; I certainly am not happy about it either.
I need to stop here and tell you about a part of writing that I often avoid. For the most part I try to encourage people to see the truth of God’s Word and to gratefully accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. I do this for them and I do this for Christ, and I do not do this for myself. When I give people the Gospel but leave out the other side of the coin, what awaits those who refuse to accept salvation by grace, I fail them and I fail my God.
“Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.’ With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them…”
Acts 2: 38-40
Following the example of the Apostle Peter, I believe I should tell you a disturbing fact of scripture. A “warning,” if you will. Many people will be given and accept the Gospel during the seven years of Tribulation. But, according to 2 Thessalonians 2: 9-12, those who hear the Gospel before the anti-Christ is revealed and refuse to accept it, will not be allowed to change their mind. In the following scripture the “lawless one” is the anti-Christ and the “lie” is that he is God…
“The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness. ”
2 Thessalonians 2: 9-12
The above scripture states that God will prevent people from seeing the truth of the Gospel and will believe that the anti-Christ is God because of the miraculous acts that he will perform. I know that many will read this and say that God is being unfair. It certainly seems so, and they often use events recorded in the book of Exodus to give credence to their argument…
“But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let the Israelites go.”
Exodus 10: 20
I think, in fairness to God, in both cases God’s action came after they had already made their decision. Although it appears that those who have rejected God’s offer of salvation through faith in Jesus will not have any chance, my personal belief is that God will search each person’s heart. But why put yourself in that position?
Now, let’s get back to the subject of money. Unfortunately, things don’t look very rosy, either from Biblical prophesy or from what we see happening in the world today. Because there is nothing in Bible prophesies about the Last Days that seems to “fit” America, many people wonder what our role will be. The answer should be pretty obvious. America will no longer be a significant entity at the time of the Tribulation.
Now wait a minute. How can I say that? America is the one remaining super power. We are the economic center of the world! If we are on the verge of the Last Days, as I have stated I believe, how can America not be a main player? The answer to that question is really very simple, we have already been defeated. Stick with me and I will show you what the Bible does say about the Last Days, why America will be a non-entity, and what has already taken place. Although most of us would like to think of America as a “shining beacon of light in a fallen world,” without a doubt, America today more accurately describes what Jesus had to say to the people of Laodicea in the book of Revelation:
“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.”
Revelation 3: 15-17
Consider the following scriptures regarding the End Times:
“At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.”
Matthew 24: 10-11
“For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. ”
2 Timothy 4: 3-4
“First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, ‘Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.'”
2 Peter 3: 3-4
It would be hard for anyone to deny that we are seeing apostasy in the “Christian” churches of America today. These “false prophets” are questioning, among other things, the deity of Jesus, His resurrection, the authority of the Bible, and the fact that He will return for His church as He promised.
God has blessed America like no other nation in history. Since our founding we have been a nation composed primarily of Christians, and previous generations of Americans acknowledged God as our provider, but this is no longer true. Although 75% of us claim to be Christian, we do not live like we are. Our laws are based on Biblical precepts, but we have allowed the appointment of judges who ignore our Constitution and even favor international law above our own. How many Americans look to their government to provide for their well being and not the Lord? Christians say that we should pray…
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7: 14
What seems to be ignored is “turn from their wicked ways.” Everyone seems to be concerned about the economy and they are praying that God, in His mercy, will bring us back to our former economic well being. America’s moral problems seem to be of secondary importance, if that. Have we elected presidents who would appoint Supreme Court Justices who are inclined to repeal Roe v. Wade?
“Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege of this Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.” – John Jay
Because most of us are more familar with Hollywood than the Bible, let me quote from a movie that I believe many of you will recognize. “But it’s not who you are underneath, it’s what you do that defines you.” Even Batman would know that claiming to be a Christian and then voting for someone who supports abortion on demand is a very telling contradiction. Perhaps 50 million abortions was the limit for God’s patience?
Earlier, I said that America had already been defeated. Let’s take a look at why this statement is true. At the time I am writing this our national debt is over 14 trillion dollars.
A stack of one hundred $100 bills equals $10,000.00
One hundred of those stacks equal one million dollars.
One hundred million dollars would stack chest high on one ISO/Military standard sized pallet.
One billion dollars would fill ten pallets.
One trillion dollars (a million million, a thousand billion) would fill 10,000 pallets and require the entire floorspace of a good sized warehouse.
Go to http://usdebt.kleptocracy.us/ for a visual representation of this.
Our national debt is over 14 trillion dollars and the interest on this amounts to 41 million dollars an hour, $690,000.00 a minute, $11,500.00 a second. That is just the interest on our debt and does not include anything towards the principal. This is a debt that cannot be paid.
On top of that 14 trillion, the combined unfunded liability for Social Security and Medicare is 106.8 trillion dollars. There is no way we can pay off the 14 trillion dollar national debt and there is certainly no way we can come up with the money promised to Social Security and Medicare.
Between 2007 and 2010 the U.S. GDP (goods and services produced by labor and property) located in the United States grew by 4.26%, but our national debt rose by 61%. Since Barack Obama signed the stimulus bill the federal government has borrowed $29,660.00 per household, and in his first two years in office, the U.S. government added more to the U.S. national debt than in the first 100 United States Congresses combined.
The stimulus money did nothing to stimulate the economy and was never meant to. The billions of dollars that were printed by the Federal Reserve will only serve to devalue existing dollars and will cause an increase in prices. We can’t even get an accounting of where all that money has gone.
Our national debt cannot be paid and sooner or later the bubble will burst and we will face an economic meltdown. To understand why this is happening we need to take a look at what God has told us will happen and what has already occurred in the past.
It is difficult to convince people that what may seem so right to them is contrary to God’s plan. It is especially difficult to convince the younger generations who have been brought up to believe that, as the song says, “We are the world, we are the children,” is not God’s design for us. We will be one people and have one world leader only when Jesus returns and any attempt to unite all of mankind without Him is destined to fail. I feel bad for the young people today. They are so angry, and not without cause. They have been told that they can do anything they want in life, but many of them leave the public school system without the training they will need to make it in the world. Things were much simpler when I was young.
A long time ago I survived twelve years of parochial school. Some of those Franciscan Brothers were a little bit sadistic, to put it as politely as I can. I had Brother Ganzaga in the sixth grade and surely he was the worst. For homework he would have us write “Technicolor times tables.” Each character had to be in a different color, and I can remember taping three different color pencils together and hoping that he wouldn’t look too closely.
At that time there was a TV show called “Your Hit Parade” or “The Hit Parade,” the title seemed to keep changing. I don’t remember too much about it except that they sang songs and one of the singers was named Gisele MacKenzie, and I had reached the age where I enjoyed looking at her. Maybe too much. Anyway, Brother Ganzaga had his own version of “The Hit Parade.” He would give a test with ten questions and the next day, when we came in, they would all be graded and the whole class would line up with our test paper in hand. He would stand there with a wooden shelf board from one of the desks, and we would have to bend over a desk and he would give us one shot for each wrong answer. Even if you had nine right you still had to get in line. He was a perfectionist, I guess.
I don’t remember what Pete Courtney did to deserve it, but one time Brother Ganzaga hit him thirty two times with three of those boards tied together. I don’t think anyone before or since had to endure such a beating.
Do they still give out those little books when you graduate from the eight grade? The ones that people can write comments in? In mine there is one from Pete Courtney that says, “Remember the temper, remember the stix, remember the time I got 96.” I guess Pete wasn’t much of a speller, but apparently those Technicolor times tables did him some good.
If I was a young man and had a son in school today and could choose to send him to public school or parochial school with the likes of a Brother Ganzaga, I would let him take his chances with Brother Ganzaga. He surely couldn’t hurt him as bad as the alternative. Let me say right now that I am not pointing a finger at public school teachers, or any group of people. The things that are happening in our world today come from a much higher source. Or perhaps, I should say lower.
“… He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”
John 8: 44
During the time of the Tribulation, the anti-Christ, along with the False Prophet, will lead a “world government,” and enabling them from behind the scenes will be Satan. We know from the Bible that this has been tried before, and that it is contrary to God’s plan for mankind.
“From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.”
Acts 17: 26-27
We learn from the book of Genesis that after the Great Flood:
“… God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth.'”
Genesis 9: 1
Genesis 11: 1-9 is an account of the first attempt by man to form a “new world order.” With Nimrod as their leader, they defied God and settled in one place and relied on themselves and not the Lord. It is important to note that the Tower of Babel was built in Babylon which was the most important city, financially and commercially, in the world for two thousand years. The Bible tells us that the world’s economic center will again be located in Babylon during the Tribulation. As a side note, Jerusalem will be the religious center and Rome will be the political.
In 1987 Saddam Hussein invested more than 500 million dollars in the rebuilding of Babylon, and even though he was removed in 2003, the work continues. Apparently, our government must believe that Babylon will rise to power again because they have built the largest embassy in the world in Baghdad. Although the average embassy is built on ten acres, this one is on 104 acres and cost 474 million dollars to build. Strange that I never read about that in the newspapers.
At the beginning of the Tribulation, the anti-Christ will be seen as the one who is capable of uniting the many nations that make up the world. In last years Christmas letter, we wrote about the history of the Middle East and how the re-establishment of the nation of Israel was the key to bringing on the End Times events that will lead up to the Tribulation and the return of Jesus Christ. But in this letter, we are more concerned with the economical aspects related to that time. Just click on this link to check it out, “Where Will America Stand?”.
For the nations to be ready for the anti-Christ to lead a one world government, certain things will need to occur before the Tribulation. In order for people to accept the “mark of the beast” at the mid-point of the Tribulation that will be necessary to buy or sell anything, the technology and the need must be in place. The technology is either here or just around the corner. I don’t know if the “mark” that everyone will need to have on either the “hand or the forehead” will be a microchip that is implanted below the skin, or if it is as simple as a smart phone that would contain all the information required for a world bank account.
The “need” for a world leader and a world monetary system is not too hard to figure out. We are experiencing an escalating world economic crisis that is being used, and was created, to hasten the acceptance of a world government, currency, and ultimately, the anti-Christ at its head. The primary tool that has been used to bring the world to economic crisis has been socialism, but American capitalism has been standing in its way. It is easy to determine that the architect of this plan is Satan, but I think that most of you are more interested in things and people that can be seen, so I will go that way.
In 1977, President Jimmy Carter spoke these words on a gold record that accompanied Voyager 1 and 2, “We are trying to survive our time so we may live into yours. We hope some day, having solved the problems we face, to join a community of Galactic Civilizations.” He believed in the need for a one world government, and probably watched too much Star Trek.
The first President Bush was an ardent believer in a new world order and often spoke of it, as in the following quote, “Now, we can see a new world coming into view. A world in which there is the very real prospect of a new world order.”
In a recent eighteen page document, Pope Benedict XVI expressed the need for a global public authority and a central world bank with control over other financial institutions. He said that if this was not established, violence brought on by the financial crisis would destroy the world. This should not come as a surprise; the Roman Catholic Church has been endorsing the need for a world government for the past sixty years.
I could very easily go on with examples of people who would be happy to see America come to her knees, so that their vision of a new world order can be achieved. The problem is not that they are hard to find, but that there are so many of them. Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven were professors at Columbia University in New York and wrote an article that was published in, “The Nation,” magazine in 1966.
What became known as the “Cloward-Piven Strategy” was a plan designed to bring about the fall of capitalism by overloading government with financial demands that could not be met, and thus, bring about crisis and economic collapse. The tactics we see being used in America today actually began in the late 1960’s by the National Welfare Reform Organization (NWRO) that caused New York City to go bankrupt in 1975.
See Footnote #1
I lived in New York at the time this was going on but I didn’t realize why this was happening. I do remember that things were so bad that I was forced to move out of state to find work. At the time that Cloward and Piven were teaching at Columbia, Hilary Clinton was a student there. Probably Barrack Obama was also, but this would be hard to verify because he has spent over one and a half million dollars on legal fees to keep his records from being revealed to the American public.
Earlier I stated that the younger generations of Americans are justifiably “angry” because they have been misled regarding what employment opportunities await them after leaving school, but the deception goes beyond this. Napoleon Bonaparte has been quoted as saying, “History is the version of past events that people have decided to agree upon.” At first glance this appears to be true but a closer look reveals the fallacy of that statement. History does not change, but history books do.
Historical revisionism can in its purist form be welcome and constructive when it consists of the addition of new found evidence that leads us to a more accurate understanding of past events. But what we are witnessing in America today is the distortion of truth for the purpose of advancing a political agenda. There is no place in a world government and religion for Bible believing Christians. In John 14: 6, Jesus said, “I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me.” Those are very intolerant words for a man to say, but if He is who He claimed to be then He has that right.
The historical fact that our country was founded by Christians and that the United States Constitution is based on principles originating in the Bible has been the target of this type of revisionism. For a century and a half textbooks contained references to our strong Christian heritage but now these facts have all but been erased.
See Footnote # 2.
The textbook, “A People’s History of the United States,’ by Howard Zinn has been used on college campuses since the 1980’s and has been used to, “Poison the minds of so many young Americans with a vulgar narrative of history in which the United States was forever cast as the villain.” The FBI has reported that Zinn was a member of the Communist Party USA.
See Footnote #3.
Dictionary.com gives the meaning of caucus as, “a faction within a legislative body that pursues its interests through the legislative process.” The Congressional Progressive Caucus can be traced back through its intermediary, the Democratic Socialists of America, to the Socialists International. Journalist, Balint Vazsonyi of the Washington Times, “Traced the lineage of the Socialist International from its roots, listing the roles played by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, coauthors of The Communist Manifesto, and Vladimir Lenin, Leon Trotsky, and Joseph Stalin.” (From “Red Army”)
The word “progressive,” is used by members of the Democratic Party because they know that most Americans would react negatively to the use of the word “socialist.” As of May 22, 2011, the Congressional Progressive Caucus listed seventy-five declared members in the 112th Congress.
I have written more than I intended to, and yet, I have barely scratched the surface. Unfortunately, there is much more that I could reveal, but hopefully I have said enough to bring you to the point of this letter which is, what should we do now? I have no earth-shattering advice for anyone, including myself, in regard to what we should do to protect ourselves financially. Actually, I shouldn’t say that because there are some things that I do know.
“For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Matthew 6: 32-34
“Choose my instruction instead of silver,
knowledge rather than choice gold,
for wisdom is more precious than rubies,
and nothing you desire can compare with her.”
Proverbs 8: 10-11
“Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life…”
Philippians 2: 14-16
I guess the heart of this Christmas message is twofold. First, to give a reminder to Christians that we are but strangers in this land. Our home has been prepared for us by Jesus Christ, just as he said he would. We need to focus on that and be strong as life becomes more difficult. The other reason for this letter is to offer that same hope to those who have not yet accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior.
“People Get Ready” is a song written by Curtis Mayfield, and in a way, contains the Gospel message. There is a very moving rendition of it on You Tube by Crystal Bowersox. Here are some of the words:
“People get ready, there’s a train a comin’
You don’t need no baggage, you just get on board
All you need is faith to hear the diesels hummin’
Don’t need no ticket, you just thank the Lord.”
The message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is, simply put, if we will admit that we are sinners and ask Jesus to come into our life and be our Lord and Savior, then all our sins are forgiven, both past and future. We must accept the fact that we cannot do anything to earn our salvation, it is the sacrifice that God made for us on the cross. If we try to add anything to that, our own “good works,” it is in effect, saying that the sacrifice Jesus made for us is insufficient. You, “Don’t need no baggage, you just get on board… don’t need no ticket, you just thank the Lord.”
If you have not yet been “born again,” we ask that you will not delay any longer. The future is certain. There will be a rapture of the saints, there will be seven years of Tribulation, there will be a Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Whether I am right or not that these events will soon take place is irrelevant; one way or another, we will all meet our maker. Our hope for you is that you will “get on board.”
GOD BLESS
MERRY CHRISTMAS

What became known as the “Cloward-Piven Strategy” was a plan designed to bring about the fall of capitalism by overloading government with financial demands that could not be met, and thus, bring about crisis and economic collapse. Newsmax wrote,
“Their strategy to create political, financial, and social chaos that would result in revolution blended Alinsky concepts with their more aggressive efforts at bringing about a change in U.S. government. To achieve their revolutionary change, Cloward and Piven sought to use a cadre of aggressive organizers assisted by friendly news media to force a re-distribution of the nation’s wealth.”
How many times in the past three years have we heard politicians use this tenet of socialism, “re-distribution of wealth,” which can also be expressed as “spreading the wealth around?” The following quote by James Simpson is from an article in www.worldviewweekend.com:
“Capitalizing on the racial unrest of the 1960s, Cloward and Piven saw the welfare system as their first target. They enlisted radical black activist George Wiley, who created the National Welfare Reform Organization (NWRO) to implement the strategy. Wiley hired militant foot soldiers to storm welfare offices around the country, violently demanding their ‘rights.’ According to a City Journal article by Sol Stern, welfare rolls increased from 4.3 million to 10.8 million by the mid-1970s as a result, and in New York City, where the strategy had been particularly successful, ‘one person was on the welfare rolls… for every two working in the city’s private economy.’
According to another City Journal article titled ‘Compassion Gone Mad’:
The movement’s impact on New York City was jolting: welfare caseloads, already climbing 12 percent a year in the early sixties, rose by 50 percent during Lindsay’s first two years; spending doubled… The city had 150,000 welfare cases in 1960; a decade later it had 1.5 million.
The vast expansion of welfare in New York City that came of the NWRO’s Cloward-Piven tactics sent the city into bankruptcy in 1975. Rudy Giuliani cited Cloward and Piven by name as being responsible for ‘an effort at economic sabotage.’ He also credited Cloward-Piven with changing the cultural attitude toward welfare from that of a temporary expedient to a lifetime entitlement, an attitude which in-and-of-itself has caused perhaps the greatest damage of all.”
Footnote # 2…
How often do we hear that the Founding Fathers were mostly deists? As the often used expression appropriately states, nothing could be further from the truth. The following is from “The Book that made America,” by Dr. Jerry Newcombe:
“Dr. M. E. Bradford found that there were 28 Episcoplians, eight Presbyterians, 7 Congregationalists, 2 Lutherans, 2 Dutch Reformed, two Methodists, 2 Roman Catholics, and 3 Deists. John Eidsmoe, author of Christianity and the Constitution, concludes that at most 5.5 percent of the Constitutional Convention were Deists.”
Critics of the Bible often point out that the Constitution of the United States does not mention God or the Bible, but perhaps they fail to realize that the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence go hand in hand. The Constitution gives us the “how” but the Declaration of Independence tells us “why.” God is mentioned four times in that document and its signers knew only one God. Compare the following words from the Declaration of Independence… “That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men” with Romans 13: 1, “For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.”
Our government was founded on Biblical principles by Christians who possessed a deep-rooted knowledge and belief in the Bible, as the following will show:
The Constitution’s three branches of government are based directly on Isaiah 33: 22 as follows:
“…For the Lord is our judge (The Judiciary)
The Lord is our lawgiver (The Legislative)
The Lord is our king.” (The Executive)
What makes us a Christian nation is not that our government requires its citizens to be Christian, but the fact that we overwhelmingly choose to call ourselves Christian, and that our form of government is based on principles found in the Bible and not in the beliefs of other religions.
It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.” — Patrick Henry
If those who fought for our nation’s freedom were not Christian, then why did the First Continental Congress in 1776 appropriate funds for the purchase of 20,000 Bibles? And when a shortage of Bibles arose again in 1782, why did Congress authorize printing the “Bible of the Revolution” and state they were to be, “a neat edition of the Holy Scriptures for the use of schools?” Why did they begin their sessions with prayer, and why did George Washington swear with his hand on the Bible when he accepted the office of president?

The following is from the book, “Red Army,” by Aaron Klein and Brenda J. Elliott:
A textbook, ‘A People’s History of the United States,’ by Howard Zinn has been required reading for courses taught nationwide on college campuses. The book is said to be ‘so popular that it can be found on the class syllabus in such fields as economics, political science, literature, and women’s studies, in addition to its more understandable inclusion in history.’…
…Zinn was much more than just a progressive’s favorite historian. An FBI file on Zinn was released in July 2010 that blew all progressive preconceptions about him completely away. After more than two decades of teaching in the political science department at Boston University, exerting his influence on the progressive movement all the while, it was discovered Zinn had been a member of the Moscow-controlled and Soviet-funded Communist Party USA.
Zinn was also found to be a pro-Castro activist and supporter of such radical groups as the Students for a Democratic Society, Progressive Labor Party, Socialist Workers Party, and the Black Panther Party. Zinn’s support for communist military victory in Vietnam, and communist regime, included a visit to Hanoi…”
…Following Zinn’s death in January 2010, John Perazzo remarked at FrontPageMag.com: ‘few academicians did more than the late Boston University professor to poison the minds of so many young Americans with a vulgar narrative of history in which the United States was forever cast as the villain.”
